Another one that shows how proud Nanna was and supportive, yet also creating an opportunity to do some good for others... My whole dance school used to do shows for her and travelled from Barnsley to Skipton to do these. These were to raise money for cancer research but I also heard her saying- ‘ that’s my granddaughter’ she was defo proud. Equally proud of my mum as she also danced with the school in the adult routines. The big treat that we were rewarded with was a fish n chips meal from the best chippy in Skipton...we all looked forward to that every time and Nanna knew it ;) I think she liked it a bit too ;) Sadly my dance teacher (Melanie Pickering) passed away in 2020, but I know if she was still here, she would have had nothing but positive words to say about Nanna and if Nanna had asked Melanie would have 100% put on another show to help Nanna raise money again.
